We are collaborating with the Epilepsy Foundation of New England during their fall conference, which will take place from September 4 – 6 at the Cambridge Hyatt. We are integrating art as education through dynamic visual displays and interactive workshops.

We are hosting a three-day Art of Epilepsy exhibition, an opening night gallery event on Thursday, September 4, featuring works by artists impacted by epilepsy.  During the conference, we will also host art workshops designed to educate, empower, and inspire through creative expression.  Registration to the Expo is required to attend the workshops.  Workshops are offered free with registration.

Special guest on the 4th will be Dr. Phillip Pearl, keynote speaker at Provider's Banquet Dinner

THE INSIDE-OUTSIDE STORY
Facing Fear by Hiding Behind Masks

  • Are they meant to protect us from ourselves?
  • A reflection of what we show to the world and obscure our true selves and feelings?
  • Do they help us uncover and discover parts of ourselves?

Mask building helps us understand ourselves and accept and embrace our true identity.

Art from the Heart Collage Project

  • What or who fills your heart with joy, love, or inspiration?
  • Create a heart that represent those feelings.
  • The heart, a symbol how everyone’s unique feelings and stories coming together to create a shared "Art from the Heart" masterpiece.

Join us for a Mask Project. Creating masks helps us express what we have buried and have difficulty verbally expressing. It lets us think about who we are, what is the "mask" that we wear on the outside and how it is different from who we are inside. Mask building helps us understand ourselves, accept and embrace our true identity.
